Liability waiver

Please read this carefully

By booking a seat at an Exodus Labs workshop, you agree to this waiver. It affects your legal rights. If you don't agree, don't book.

Who this covers

This waiver is between you, the participant, and Exodus Labs LLC, its owner, instructors, helpers and volunteers (together, "Exodus Labs").

You must be 18 or older to agree to it and to attend.

The activity

Exodus Labs workshops are in-person, hands-on sessions at a venue run by someone else. You'll sit at a laptop for several hours, move around a shared room, and use AI tools in our hosted environment.

The risks

Attending carries risks, including:

• trips, slips and falls, including over cables and bags
• injury from furniture, equipment or the venue's premises
• eye strain, back strain and other effects of long periods at a screen
• illness, including illness passed between attendees
• loss, theft of or damage to your laptop and belongings
• travel to and from the venue
• AI output that is wrong, incomplete or offensive, and the exposure of anything you type into AI tools
• AI models and agents that respond and behave in ways no one can predict, as explained below

AI behavior can't be predicted. AI models are non-deterministic: the same request can get a different response each time. AI agents work toward the goal they're given, and may take steps nobody asked for or expected. No one, including Exodus Labs, can predict exactly how a model or an agent will respond or behave. Check what an agent did before you rely on it.

You accept the risks

You take part voluntarily. You accept the risks above, and risks that can't be foreseen. You decide whether you're fit to attend.

Release of liability

To the fullest extent Michigan law allows, you release Exodus Labs from any claim for injury, illness, death, loss or damage arising from the workshop, including claims caused by Exodus Labs' ordinary negligence. You agree not to sue Exodus Labs over any claim you have released.

This release does not cover gross negligence or willful misconduct by Exodus Labs.

Your responsibilities

Follow the venue's rules, instructions from staff, and our code of conduct. You're responsible for harm you cause to other people or to the venue.

Medical help

If you're hurt or become ill, you allow Exodus Labs to call for emergency medical help for you. You're responsible for the cost of any care you receive.

Other terms

If any part of this waiver can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Michigan law governs it.

Agreeing online, by checking the box when you book, has the same effect as signing on paper. We may also ask you to sign a printed copy at check-in.

By agreeing, you confirm that you have read and understood this waiver, and that you are giving up substantial rights.
